Valve has released an update for the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 which will fix numerous bugs and problems. One of the main problems addressed is the noticable dip in performance when rendering lots of decals – this was very noticeable when fighting tanks and using shotguns. Matchmaking has also been tweaked when trying to match advanced and expert games, while numerous other changes to the online aspect of the survival shooter including disconnection issues and incorrect icon types for selecting items have all been fixed by Valve. You will also be able to use the keyboard on the main menu to select which game mode you want to play after numerous fans quizzed Valve over the exclusion of such a simple feature. We were very impressed with the sequel which, when first announced, came under fire from the community over the lack of support for the first game. For full details regarding the update check the Steam website.
