Left 4 Dead 2 Adding Versus Mode Bots, Removing Auto-Spawn

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

Valve has revealed via the Left 4 Dead Blog that Infected bots will soon be added to Versus, while auto-spawn is being  removed.Valve’s “L4D Team” posted on the official Left 4 Dead blog that they “are working on some other updates coming for PC and 360.””We are adding bots for the Infected team to help out the Infected when they are down a man or two,” wrote the team. “this will also make 1v1 Versus a bit more fun.”In addition to this, the much-maligned auto-spawn in the finales, which stops Infected from choosing their spawn points and instead places them in the worst position possible – deliberately, if the people screaming in mics when I play it are anything to go by – is to be removed.”Even though it’s pretty obvious from the L4D forums that EVERYONE LOVES auto-spawning in finales,” wrote the team, linking to one of the billions of threads complaining about auto-spawning, “we figured, what the hell – we’d just go ahead and remove auto-spawning anyway.”We loved Left 4 Dead 2, and we’re looking forward to getting to grips with the forthcoming DLC, The Passing, which sees Left 4 Dead 2’s survivors encounter those from the first game. We can expect to see what happened to Louis, Zoey, Bill, and Francis sometime in early spring, although there’s no mention as to whether this’ll be before or after the bots and auto-spawn fixes appear.
