Multiversus Lebron James Reveal

LeBron James, Rick Sanchez, and Morty Smith are coming to MultiVersus

Come on, and slam!

MultiVersus has already dipped into the live action, adding Arya Stark from Game of Thrones to its bedazzled roster. But now, MultiVersus is expanding its, erm, multiverse into the real world, adding the NBA star LeBron James into the game as a new playable character. On top of that, the iconic cartoon characters Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith from Rick and Morty are coming to MultiVersus as playable characters as well.

Technically, LeBron is a Warner Bros. character, in case anyone was really bothered by the fact of his inclusion. His appearance in Space Jam: A New Legacy is probably what allowed him to be a part of the game. His in-game personality is apparently lifted from the movie as well. I haven’t actually seen the new Space Jam, so I can’t verify how true to his character LeBron is here. Either way, this is a pretty outrageous move (in a good way).

The multiverse comes through

Fortunately, those who aren’t basketball fans might still find something to latch onto with the game’s latest inclusions. Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith from the popular sci-fi adult animated show, Rick and Morty, are also coming to MultiVersus. Morty will be “aw, jeez-ing” alone, unfortunately, as he and Rick won’t be coming to the game at the same time. LeBron James joins the game on July 26, Morty on August 9, and Rick at a later unannounced date (although still slated for sometime within Season 1).

If you’re not currently in the game’s Early Access, you can slam onto the scene when the game’s open beta starts on July 26. Players who are interested in LeBron James will get to start learning his character at the same time, and his move set looks pretty crazy. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out LeBron James’ MultiVersus trailer below.
