League of Legends has four major regions that are well-known within the community and some other subregions that don’t have as high a presence as other regions. Here are all of the competitive regions in League of Legends, ranked:

Note: the following list emphasizes the main dominant regions. Other regions like Japan, Brazil, and Turkey are competitive, but not as consistent as the regions listed below. In addition, other regions like Oceania and Russia have leagues that were merged into other leagues or straight-up canceled.

#6: Vietnam Championship Series

The Vietnam Champion Series (VCS) is the official league of Vietnam for League of Legends. There are some strong teams like GAM eSports and Cerberus and is generally an offensive region. The VCS is bound to rise in the rankings in the future.

#5: PCS

The PCS represents the top level of gameplay for the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Oceania. It generally encompasses Southeast Asia, with the exception of Vietnam.

#4: Europe

Europe remains one of the major regions with a competitive presence, represented by the League of Legends European Championship (LEC). This professional league features some strong-performing teams, such as Fnatic and Rogue.

#3: North America

North America is home to many memes within eSports in general. The North American scene for League of Legends is remarkably strong, however, with strong teams like Team Liquid and Cloud9. #2: China

There’s no dispute that China is almost neck-in-neck with South Korea at this point in terms of skill. With teams like EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, and RNG, China has taken the mantle from South Korea plenty of times. However, South Korea has some more consistent results and performances that just edge out China.

#1: South Korea

South Korea has a reputation for being one of the strongest regions in League of Legends, and this reputation is not unfounded. South Korea is repeatedly dominant in League of Legends, with franchises from the LCK consistently making their mark on the global stage. Korean teams T1, DRX, and Damwon have proven themselves to be formidable challengers, with each team recently winning the World Championship.
