Lead Character Artist of The Last of Us, Michael Knowland, Leaves Naughty Dog

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Naughty Dog appear to be losing employee’s at an alarming rate. The latest to go is the lead character artist Michael Knowland who has worked for Naughty Dog for over three years. According to his Linkedin profile, Knowland has left Naughty Dog after working on the hugely successful The Last of Us.

His leaving adds to the number of big names who have left Naughty Dog. Nate Wells, Justin Richmond and Amy Hennig have all recently left Naughty Dog and it’s not hard to understand why some people are asking what the hell is going on? From the publics point of view Naughty Dog couldn’t be hotter right now so why is everyone jumping ship? Is there trouble in paradise or are some people leaving simply to pursue other options?

This also raises questions regarding the future of The Last of Us. Naughty Dog had stated that they were exploring the idea of a sequel but with so many big name departures, is that an option anymore? Whatever the case we wish Knowlands all the best.
