Last Epoch: Should you return Erza’s Ledger to Artem or Erza?

Who needs morals when you can have loot?

Early in Last Epoch, two NPCS in The Council Chambers offer quests to retrieve Erza’s Ledger. Artem is a seedy gambler looking to erase his debt, while Erza is the collector himself. This guide covers which character you should choose to return the Ledger to for the best reward.

Should you complete Artem’s Offer or Erza’s Ledger in Last Epoch?

Who you give the Ledger in Last Epoch to will decide which Unique (orange) piece of gear you receive. Erza rewards you with Avarice Gloves for your honesty, while Artem presents you with the Gambler’s Fallacy Amulet.

Despite being able to accept both quests, you can only complete either Erza’s Ledger or Artem’s Offer. The other quest will automatically fail once you’ve accepted either reward. Everyone knows loot is more important than morals, so keep reading to find out which gear is the best.

Should you choose Avarice of Gambler’s Fallacy?

Avarice from the Ezra’s Ledger quest is typically the best Unique to choose for leveling — especially for elemental builds due to its ‘element damage as life’ modifier.

Avarice isn’t an exceptionally popular pick for endgame builds but does perform excellently with some leveling and early monolith builds. I used them throughout the campaign with my Paladin with a Javelin-focused build, which was like a glorified easy mode.

Check out the stats for Avarice and Gambler’s Fallacy below to help you choose which quest to complete based on your current gear.

Erza’s Ledger Reward — Avarice

Avarice (Unique Leather Gloves):

  • + 10 Armor
  • + 5 – 10 Mana
  • 3% element damage leeched as health
  • 30 – 39% increased Leech rate
  • 13% Elemental resistance

Artem’s Offer Reward — Gambler’s Fallacy

Gambler’s Fallacy (Unique Ruby Amulet):

  • + 5 – 25 Health
  • + 100% Critical strike chance if you have not dealt a critical strike recently
  • 50% less Critical strike chance if you have dealt a critical strike recently
  • 10 – 15 Health Gain on Crit

(The term “recently” refers to the last four seconds in Last Epoch.)
