Kotick Threatens to Leave UK Over TAX Relief

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick issued a statement today which indicates that they would consider leaving the UK following the failure of the UK government to implement TAX relief for the games industry.
Activision Blizzard currently employs around six hundred people in the UK based out of Slough.
Bobby Kotick commented: “I think it was a terrible mistake. There are so many other places that are encouraging the video games industry.”
With TAX relief being offered in the US, Canada and also Singapore, Bobby Kotick said that the TAX relief is “much needed”.
It is unlikely Activision Blizzard would pull out of the UK which is one of the largest videogame markets in Europe and they need people on the ground to make sure their titles are being promoted and pushed to the public and the media. Another dose of Kotick hot air?
