How to recruit the Red Dragon in King’s Bounty II
Let’s discuss how to get the Red Dragon unit in King’s Bounty II.
For this one, you’ll need to pick up a sidequest called “Lyssa’s Dungeon” found on a bulletin board in the Mages’ Tower hub. Speak to a couple of NPCs, and you’ll be told that the dungeon is located all the way to the southeast. It’s past Floster, the Witch’s House, and the Fradulent Thicket area, so you won’t be able to reach it until you progress further in the campaign.
Once you’re inside, pick up the lens inside each glowing pillar and place them on the device in the middle of the room. Then, click on the receptacles until they match the color of the pillars on their side (i.e., blue, green, and red).
Lyssa’s Ring will appear and, if you interact with it, it starts a battle against several Ancient Wolves, Flamethrower Dwarves, and a Red Dragon. Try to avoid placing any of your units on a hex that’s adjacent to the Red Dragon’s movement range. Otherwise, it can easily scorch multiple units on the first turn.
I opted to use my Knights to use “Taunt” here to distract the Red Dragon, giving my Royal Mages and Disciples enough time to blast it. Oh, and watch out for the Ancient Wolves because they can inflict “Fear” on multiple units.
After winning the fight, you’ll earn Lyssa’s Ring (+200 leadership and +30% damage dealt by Red Dragon units). Then, if you return to the Witch’s House, the recruiter NPC here has a couple of Red Dragons that you can get for a whopping 32,000 gold each.
All right, let’s go to the next part of our King’s Bounty II guide to talk about the Bone Dragon.
