Kingdom Come: Deliverance save system is not everyone’s liking. Warhorse has created two ways to save games which we can only assume have been implemented for realism.
The first method is to buy Saviour Schnapps with the cash you have which has the downside of turning your character into an alcoholic the more you drink the stuff. The second method is to find somewhere to sleep which is not always easy.
The community has been debating the save methods employed by Warhorse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance all afternoon, some hate it, some love it. If you hate, there is a workaround which has now thankfully been made into a mod.
The mod created by biosmanager allows you to save anytime the game would normally allow you to save, without using up your Saviour Schnapps. With this change, players can hit up the save button and save progress at any time.
There is documentation Steam explaining how this is done and what’s going on behind the scenes. However, the easiest way to uitilise this save method is to use the mod. The only things you need to be aware of once you have it working is to make sure you use the Escape key to save and do not drink the Schnapps from the inventory. There are also two versions of the files to choose from, one that requires a Schnapps and one that doesn’t. Simple enough instructions but make sure you backup any files first as notes in the docs.
Currently, Kingdom Come: Deliverance suffers from quite a few bugs and some players have lost progress due to some of these bugs. Not being able to load up a more recent save can be frustrating but this mod should ease the pain.
