Saber Interactive will work with Tripwire on Killing Floor 2 in 2020

Killing Floor 2 is getting some big help next year.

It looks like the devs over at Saber Interactive are in for a very busy 2020. Along with updating their own hit game World War Z (which, by the way, just got its own Horde Mode), the developers are also pairing up with a familiar franchise. Over on a Steam community page, Saber detailed that it will work alongside Tripwire Interactive on updates for the latter’s hit title Killing Floor 2.

What kind of collaboration is happening?

David Amata, product lead for Tripwire, talked about the team-up in a little more detail. He specifically pointed to Saber Interactive being the right team with the “technical and creative skillset” needed to make Killing Floor 2 even better. “Our internal team will still be heavily involved in guiding the design and intent for the updates as we work together so that we maintain a consistently high-quality bar that our community expects,” he explained.

With that, fans should expect a “full slate” of content for Killing Floor 2 in the coming year. These include a bevy of “maps, weapons and more that we’ve been planning” that should keep things moving along.

HRG weapons will also get some focus time “to build a new identity for those existing weapons they’ll be based on.” In addition, winners from the 2019 Mapping Contest will be added to the game as well, though to what extent is unknown. Seasonal events will also make a comeback.

What’s more, Amata invites current players that are enjoying the game to fill out this survey. This will help the developers with providing the content, though, obviously, there’s no confirmation on exactly what they’ll be providing just yet. Nevertheless, with the help of Saber, “we will continue to hold a high quality bar for every release in all that we do,” he concluded.

It sounds like Killing Floor 2 is in for a, ahem, killer year. Check out the game’s latest trailer below, and pick it up on Steam now. It’s on sale!
