Warframe developers Digital Extremes will be launching the closed beta for their next free-to-play title later this month. Previously dubbed Keystone, the game is now called The Amazing Eternals.
The 1970s pulp sci-fi aesthetic is still there though. As is the mix of FPS and deck-building gameplay; all framed by a mystical board game. It’s a lot to take in, but basically it looks like a character-based shooter with some unique cards you can play during matches to provide powers, weapons and the like. Decks can be customised, too.
To sign up for the closed beta of The Amazing Eternals, you can head over to the official site and stick your name down. Only those who purchase access through a ‘Founders Program’ will be able to join the beta from 29 August. Those waiting for free entry will start seeing keys distributed from 1 September onwards, via the usual randomised methods.
The Founders Program doesn’t launch until that late August date, so it’s not yet available and there doesn’t seem to be any pricing information at present. When it does show up, it’ll offer “direct development team collaboration, exclusive in-game gear, instant access to the Closed Beta, and more”. Here’s a trailer.
