Epic Mickey 2 is looking like a serious doubt on the PC, as news comes through today confirming that developers Junction Point have been shut down by Disney Interactive. Rumours were circulating about the closure yesterday, and in a statement made to Polygon Disney has confirmed those suggestions.
“It was with much sadness that we informed our teams today of changes to our Games organization, which include the closure of Junction Point Studios,” a Disney representative said.
Junction Point was founded by Art Min and Warren Spector in 2004, and purchased by Disney Interactive in 2007. The Austin-based developer is said to have employed around 160 people.
Warren Spector’s former studio had already delayed Epic Mickey 2’s PC release until January, but with the developer’s closure that game now looks in danger of cancellation.
We’ve approached Disney for any news of the PC version.
