Tekken 8 Trailer Jun Kazama Stage Hand Background

Jun Kazama makes her grand return in latest Tekken 8 trailer

No sign of Unknown for now.

The big day for longtime Tekken fans has finally come. Earlier today, Bandai Namco uploaded the long-awaited character trailer for Jun Kazama in Tekken 8. Initially teased during the second official Tekken 8 trailer, Jun Kazama returns here for her first canonical appearance since Tekken 2. She made her last playable appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but her reappearance here means players may get to officially learn what happened to her while she was presumed dead for so long.

Unlike the other character trailers, Jun’s trailer begins with a shot of a brand-new stage. This area takes place in an idyllic forest that features vibrant foliage, large shallow ponds, and beams of sunlight shining through the trees. A small bird lands on Jun’s hand before flying away, cueing the usual trailer introduction with the enthusiastic announcer and electronic soundtrack. In the middle of the trailer, Jun and Kazuya stand face-to-face, with Kazuya stating that she has remained alive this whole time. Just from these small extra touches, you can tell that the developers understood the significance of this character’s return.

How does Jun play?

When it comes to Jun’s gameplay, it noticeably differs from that of her previous outings, including in the relatively recent Tekken Tag Tournament 2. This time, she imbues her attacks with a spiritual touch, emitting light pillars and ghostly birds upon executing certain moves. Her Rage Art sees her walking up to her opponent and causing a large burst of light to emit from their chest. As she does this, she says that “we will cleanse this world of its evil and corruption.”

Now that the Tekken 8 Jun trailer has finally been released, we know about every character revealed thus far in at least some detail. Hopefully, it won’t take too long before Bandai Namco unveils more of the roster and uploads the next batch of trailers.
