Jason Voorhees stalks onto Mortal Kombat X tomorrow

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Friday the 13th “star” Jason Voorhees will be landing in Mortal Kombat X tomorrow – sort of – and can be seen in action in a new trailer.

If you fancy a bit of Jason, you can attract him to your copy of Mortal Kombat X in three ways. Firstly, if you have the Kombat Pack – the big Season Pass offering all of the playable characters and skin packs – he’ll be available from tomorrow. Things get a bit trickier if you don’t have the Kombat Pack, because that delays him by a week.

From 12 May (next Tuesday), you can opt to buy the Jason Voorhees Bundle, which costs £6.49 and contains both Jason himself and the Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile, and Pharaoh Ermac skins. Alternatively, you can opt to buy Jason Voorhees and the Horror Skins Pack separately. They’ll be priced at £3.99 and £3.29 respectively.

If you want immediate access to Jason Voorhees, then it looks like the £24.99 Kombat Pack is the only way to do it. If you’re uninterested in the skins and only want the characters, though, then it’s probably more cost-effective to wait for the stand-alone releases of each character: if all four DLC characters are all priced at £3.99 a pop, then that works out to around £15.96, which is a £9 saving on the Kombat Pack.

Mortal Kombat X is out now, and Jason Voorhees is “out” tomorrow. The PC version isn’t exactly marvellous, but I’m hoping it’ll get patched up to a more stable, comfortable state before long.
