Is there Mod support in Starfield? Answered

Does Starfield have mods?

In the past, Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 have been known for their incredible mods and modding community. But, is it the same for Starfield? Here’s whether or not Starfield has mods.

Are there Starfield mods?

Yes, Starfield does have mods. Like all the Bethesda games before it, Starfield will have tons and tons of mods, some of which are funny and some of which genuinely make the game better.

How to use mods in Starfield

You can only use Starfield mods if you’re on PC. The one-stop shop for mods that I recommend using is NexusMods. NexusMods is a safe and secure website that you can use to find mods and download and install them.

Luckily, installing and using mods in Starfield is relatively easy with NexusMods. Every mod has a description section that tells you what required mods you need to use the one you’re looking at and they tell you how to install the mod.

Usually, it requires going into the Starfield files on your computer and adding, removing, and editing stuff. This can be very intimidating if you are new to it, but hopefully, the step-by-step instructions in the mod’s description will help you do everything correctly.

There is no template that every modder uses to describe how to use their mod, but if it’s a good mod, they’re gonna do a good job of telling you how to install it and use it in Starfield.

If any modders are reading this, my wish list includes hands-on loading screens instead of cutscenes for grav jumps, landings, and take offs, faster ladder climbing, and a Skyrim-esque mini-map while in cities and a better map in general. I know these are big asks, and Bethesda should have put these features in the game to start with, but Starfield would be immeasurably better with just these few fixes.
