The Prince of Persia is back, and I’m hyped about how a new generation of players will experience the most iconic heroes in gaming. However, as modern gaming becomes more about what platform it’s on rather than the game itself, you may be surprised when you find out a game you want isn’t sold on a specific.
In this case, we’re talking about whether the latest Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be available on Steam. To find out, read on.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – Is it coming to Steam?
The short and sweet answer is it’s not coming to Steam. This is weird because if you go on Steam right now, you can nab the genre-defying Sand of Time trilogy in its entirety. Because of that, you won’t be able to play on Valve’s handheld Steam Deck either. However, since the Steam Deck is open source, you might be able to find a way to play it there.
If you’re looking to pick up the Prince’s latest adventure on PC you still have options such as Ubisoft’s own launcher or cloud service. Additionally, if you don’t want another game launcher taking up space and have Epic Games already installed, you can buy the game from that store as well. For console users, you’ll be happy to know it supports cross-generation. This means Xbox One and PS4 owners can still enjoy the game at its fullest.
Will the game ever come out for Steam?
It’s possible that we could see Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown come out on a popular storefront in a year or so. PC games like console games do have exclusivity deals, and they do expire after some time. So maybe if Ubisoft and Epic Games have cut a deal, it may be for a set amount of time. Only time will tell. For now, if you’re looking forward to playing the game on PC, simply download the Epic Games store or Ubisoft’s native launcher.Â
Just because Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a side-scrolling, Metroidvania-inspired game doesn’t mean it’s a small game. It can take some time to beat. Find out how long it takes to get through the Prince’s newest story.Â
