Rockstar pushed back the release of GTA 5 on the PC to 2015 but is it justified?

PC gamers had been waiting a long time to find out of Grand Theft Auto V would eventually come to PC and we finally got the good news. The bad news last week was that the PC version was to be delayed until January next year. Rockstar issued a statement explaining why the PC version was being delayed:

We’re glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon. We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible. Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead.

Despite a very vibrant PC modding community for GTA IV Rockstar look to be prioritising the next-gen console release which will be released in November as planned. Does the PC version really need the extra time? How do you feel about the delay? Will you buy it or is it too little too late?
