If you’re ever struggling to get onto Reddit, you may need to check if it is down. It’s not often, but once in a while, the Reddit servers crash, leaving all Reddit users in the dark. Here is how to check if Reddit is down and how to fix it.
Note: If you want to check out the Warzone 2 train bug on Reddit, you can — if Reddit is online.
Is Reddit offline? How to check, explained
The best place to check if Reddit is down is downdetector.com. By checking downdetector.com, you can report Reddit being offline and see a report of recent Reddit outages in the last 24 hours.
If you see a spike in Reddit outages, it usually means Reddit is offline. If this is the case, you’ll need to wait until Reddit fixes the issues.
The next best place to see what’s going on with Reddit is the official Reddit Status Twitter. If Reddit is offline, you’ll see posts here reflecting that. For instance, I am looking at the Twitter page now and it says that two minutes ago, Reddit Status posted that they are aware of the loading problems and are working to resolve it.
How to fix Reddit errors
If you check downdetector.com and Reddit Status and you don’t see that Reddit is offline, then there may be an issue on your end.
If you are on your phone, make sure you’re in an area with good cellular data or that you’re on good wifi. If either of those things are weak, then you’ll have trouble loading Reddit.
If you are on PC, check your wifi connection and try a wired connection to your router. If that doesn’t fix it, restart your PC by shutting it down, waiting 10 seconds, and booting it up again. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix big issues.
Hopefully, these simple fixes allow you to get back onto Reddit. However, if Reddit is down, all you can do is wait for the Reddit server issues to be resolved.
