Pacific Drive is a sci-fi survival action game where you and your busted-up car go on a supernatural adventure together. But is Pacific Drive compatible with the Steam Deck?
With any game that releases on Steam comes the question of how well it’ll work on Valve’s handheld device. Here’s some insight into how well this game will work on the Steam Deck.
Pacific Drive: Can you play it on the Steam Deck?
While many Steam games are compatible with the Steam Deck at launch, Pacific Drive will not be fully Verified at launch. In an FAQ released on February 4 by a developer, Ironwood Studios explained that since it’s a smaller team, it decided to not focus on Steam Deck support.
It continued to say that at some point it would like to make it compatible, but there are no current plans for it. This doesn’t mean that it won’t be playable on the Steam Deck on launch, though. It’ll either be Playable, Unsupported, or Unknown. Playable would mean that the game would require some tweaking in the settings to work optimally.

By the way that the FAQ worded this answer, it seems like Pacific Drive could more likely be Unsupported or Unknown. Unsupported games aren’t functional on the Steam Deck, but they can occasionally still work to a degree. By launch, we’ll see which level Pacific Drive is at, but it certainly won’t be Verified.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Pacific Drive work on the Steam Deck. This game is releasing on the PS5 as well, so there will be full controller support. You may just have to mess with the settings in-game to make it work to your liking.
When the demo was initially released, some players (as described in this Reddit post) found a round-about way to get the demo to run on the Steam Deck, so surely you should be able to run it to a degree once it releases. Otherwise, if you’re interested in another survival game, you may want to know if Nightingale works with the Steam Deck.
