Are Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) servers down?

At the time of writing, there are no issues with Modern Warfare 3 servers and everything is up and running across the board. The most recent issue was a bump in server connection errors in the early morning of November 11, 2023, as shown by the increase in user-submitted reports on Call of Duty’s Downdetecter page at 5:00 AM.

This seems to be resolved now since the reports are back to baseline numbers. Weirdly, there has been no confirmation from Call of Duty themselves as to what happened or how it was resolved. As is common with newly released games, players can expect further problems to arise. If you’re still facing an issue in MW3 when logging in, here’s how to check the MW3 server status.

How to check Modern Warfare 3 server status

For large outages or serious issues, you can visit Activision’s online services support page to find out the MW3 server status. It’s a simple and convenient site to check for server issues and you can also click an individual platforms icon to be sent to its server status page, which lets you know if the problem is on either PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam’s side.

Another way to get updated on the MW3 server status and any major bugs is by following the official Call of Duty Updates account on Twitter/X. They do a good job of promptly updating players on live-game issues along with removals, patch notes, fixes and more.

Lastly, the Call of Duty Downdetecter page is a great source for checking the past and present server status of MW3. What’s best about Downdetector is that since the reports are user-submitted, it can show outages that don’t get reported by the official channels.
