How to play Horde Rush in Fortnitemares event, explained

Fortnite’s Halloween event called Fortnitemares is here and with it is Horde Rush. Horde Rush is a limited-time mode where you travel to different locations and eliminate Cube Monster zombies along the way. If you want to play Horde Rush, here is what you need to know.

How to play Horde Rush in Fortnitemares

You can play Horde Rush by finding the LTM in the Fortnite game mode selection screen. Select Horde Rush, jump in solo or with a squad, and fight your way through the Horde!

The easiest way to find Horde Rush is to go to the “By Epic” row. As long as Horde Rush is around, you’ll be able to play it.

Is Fortnite Horde Rush down?

At launch, Horde Rush in Fortnitemares was down. During that time, you couldn’t play it. Since then, it’s been updated and is back online!

Well, it was online for a bit. Technically, you can still play Horde Rush, but players are reporting matchmaking errors and long queue times. Epic Games has identified this issue and is working to fix it. The only thing you can do now is wait for Epic Games to fix Horde Rush before Halloween is ruined.

Currently, Horde Rush is live but it’s having issues. I recommend staying connected to Fortnite Status on Twitter (or X) to learn about crashes and errors and when things get fixed. That’s how I learned Horde Rush was down at first but is now back up and ready to play if you don’t encounter any issues.

Fortnite Horde Rush has begun as of today, October 10, 2023. The end date and time for Fortnite Horde Rush is November 3, 2023, at 2:00 a.m. ET. When Horde Rush isn’t down, enjoy it while it lasts!

All Fortnite Horde Rush rewards

There are three free rewards that you can earn by playing Horde Rush. Like most game modes in Fortnite, Horde Rush has specific quests that, when completed, offer cool cosmetics.

Here are the Fortnite Horde Rush rewards:

Complete 1 Horde Rush Quest to earn The Murk Wrap.
Complete 4 Horde Rush Quests to earn the Heart-o-Lantern Emoticon.
Complete 7 Horde Rush Quests to earn the Batwing Bonespike Pickaxe.
