The Scorched Earth DLC for Ark Survival Ascended is now out, but is it free? Whether a game costs money and, if so, how much, determines whether you try it out. Thankfully, we’ve got good news for Scorched Earth.
How much does Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earth DLC cost?
The Scorched Earth expansion in Ark Survival Ascended is free. The only thing you need to do to play Scorched Earth for free is to own Ark Survival Ascended.
If you have an Xbox Game Pass membership, you’re in luck. Otherwise, Ark Survival Ascended costs USD $44.99. You can look at it as it costs USD $44.99 to access Scorched Earth, but that would discredit the fact that you get The Island, the base Ark Survival Ascended experience, for the price.
On top of that, it is planned that all Ark Survival Evolved DLC will slowly trickle over to Ark Survival Ascended as free content. The 12 DLC in Ark Survival Evolved, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Part 1 and Part 2, and much more will all come to Ark Survival Ascended and be free to play — all you need to do is pay the entry fee for Ark Survival Ascended.
In Ark Survival Evolved, the expansions cost anywhere from USD $19.99 to USD $34.99. The expansion maps, which include The Center, Ragnarok, Crystal Isles, and more, are free, but the main expansions cost money. One of the best parts about Ark Survival Ascended, besides using all the server console commands, is paying one price for a stream of free content. All you need to do to get it is wait.
I think it’s great that expansions in Ark Survival Ascended are free. After getting my fill with the latest content in Ark Survival Ascended, I can move on to other games only to get surprised later on with a huge expansion update that’s free to play. The best mods help keep things fresh, too.
