Inscryption Act 1 boss guide – The Trapper and the Trader
Let’s talk about how we can defeat the Trapper and Trader bosses in Inscryption.
Phase 1: The Trapper
For the first phase of the Trapper boss fight, you need to watch out for two types of cards:
- Strange Frog – 1/2 with Mighty Leap. If a Strange Frog is killed, it’ll turn into a Leaping Trap.
- Leaping Trap – 0/1 with Mighty Leap and Steel Trap. Steel Trap is a proc that causes your creature to instantly die if they attack that card.
Monsters with the Airborne sigil will get annihilated here since Mighty Leap will automatically block their attempts to hit the boss. You might need to sacrifice some of your other creatures, for now, while mitigating damage. If your creatures get killed, they’ll automatically transform into pelt cards in your hand.
Phase 2: The Trader
The Trader acts much like the vendor that you’ve encountered during your runs. That means you’ll exchange the pelt cards in your hand to select creatures (which can be placed down if you have the resources). However, any creature you didn’t choose will automatically be placed on the opposing side.
This leads to situations where you might need to take out an entire column of hostile beasts before you can damage the Trader. This implies that you’ll need blocker cards with high HP as well. Alternatively, you can finally use those with the Airborne sigil to strike your opponent directly before you get swarmed.
If you defeat these two fellas, you’ll get a permanent discount to all Trapper pelt prices. You won’t need to exchange as many teeth as before to collect pelts. All right, let’s move on to the next part of our Inscryption boss guide to talk about Leshy’s trials, the actual encounter, and the Moon phase.
