Cheating in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone has been an issue since the game was released. Similarly, other games have been experiencing the same issues such as Fall Guys. Recently, a tweet from Infinity Ward provided fans with an update of how many players have actually been banned. Although it does not specify how many were banned from multiplayer, and how many were banned from Verdansk, it can be assumed that the majority are from Call of Duty: Warzone.

The tweet from Infinity Ward specifies that over 200,000 accounts have been banned for cheating since launch. This figure is a quite a high amount of players to be banned across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Earlier this week, Vice reported that a total of 20,000 accounts had been banned with the launch of Season 6. It appears that ban waves will not be slowing down any time soon.

Nobody is safe from the ban hammer!

Although this announcement was welcomed by the Call of Duty community, hackers are still a prominent part of the game. In April this year, Infinity Ward made a similar announcement, informing fans that 70,000 accounts had been banned. Clearly, you can see the progress that has been made between then and now. Even some Call of Duty: Warzone streamers have been included in the various ban waves.

Finally, Infinity Ward outlined that it is continuing to implement further security updates and enforcement tools against hackers. Currently, it is unknown what these features are and how effective they will be. It will be interesting to see how many more accounts will be banned in the future. Until then, you can enjoy the new content released as part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 6. This includes the introduction of the fast-travel subway station. Also, the new AS VAL assault rifle and SP-R 208 marksman rifle have already proven to be a hit.
