Infinity Ward Had To Fight Activision For Modern Warfare

Following the reports of the departure of Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella, an interview has revealed the developer and publisher had a history of conflict.

According to an interview with West and Zampella in OPM, the Infinity Ward heads emphasised that they had to “fight for everything” with its publishing house, including Modern Warfare.

“Activision also did not want Modern Warfare,” said Zampella.

“They thought working on a modern game was risky and [thought], ‘oh my god you can’t do that, it’s crazy!’ They were doing market research to show us we were wrong the whole time.”
