The new Command & Conquer has been canned, the alpha test didn’t exactly go as well as EA would have wanted it according to the PR official line.

As we’ve been on the alpha test we thought we should take a look at the game and also discuss the reasons why this free to play model wasn’t exactly pleasing fans of the series. A Victory Games employee has now even posted that the closure was “total bs”. Intriguing.

Paul jumped into a few PvP games yesterday following the cancellation announcement to take a final look at this version of C&C that will now never see a general release. Oddly enough the servers are still online but they’ll probably vanish eventually once EA decide exactly what to do with the game now and how to turn off the servers.
