Immortals Fenyx Rising was a surprise favorite of mine in the wee months of 2020. I found it to be an excellent time and was a bit sad to have completed it. Naturally, it’s a Ubisoft game, so there was always going to be more on the way, but no timetable had been indicated. Astoundingly, the first bit of DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising, titled A New God, may actually be scheduled for less than two months after the release date of the main game itself. According to a possible early leak, players can purchase the DLC by itself on January 21. Holders of the game’s $40 USD season pass, however, will have access to it regardless.
Granted, the base game has a decent enough chunk of content that many players will possibly still not be done with it, but there isn’t much information on what exactly A New God will bring to the world of Immortals Fenyx Rising. What we do know, according to PlayStation Game Size’s Twitter, is what the game’s leaked trophy list clues us toward. The DLC will contain new trials, as well as new blessings, gear, and transportation options. It will see Fenyx return as they continue to fight and grow into the role that the end of the game thrust them into.
One of three
As for the other two expansions, we still don’t know when to expect those. They will feature two all-new protagonists, one of which will focus on some of the Greek gods that didn’t make their way into the base game’s narrative. The other will take place in Chinese mythology, offering an undoubtedly different take on the world of Immortals Fenyx Rising. I’m eager to jump into A New God and I’m glad that we don’t have long to wait. In the meantime, I may as well finish collecting 100% of the base game’s content. Easier said than done, I know.
