HTC Vive store now selling replacement parts and they are not cheap

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

When gamers forked out the huge amount of money for the HTC Vive it came with a lot of parts, the two base stations, the two controllers, and the link box. It now might be an idea to take good care of them.

The Vive accessories store is now fully open for business with replacement controllers, link box and base stations. There are also nose cover replacements and cable replacements as well for good measure.

A base station replacement comes in at £121.99, and if both for some reason got damaged, it would be double that to replace them. The controllers are not cheap either, each controller costs £116.99 to replace. A replacement link box costs £26.99.

The costs of these important components equate to about the  price of the full package proving that users need to take just as much care with these as they do the headset.

The most likely part of the kit to be damaged would be the 3-in-1 cable which costs £39.99. The cable will have the most wear and tear as it gets twisted when using room scale.

Vive users need to take good care of their kit or it’s going to cost a pretty penny. The joy of owning an expensive piece of hardware when you’re an early adopter.
