How to use the Secret Command in Ready or Not Explained

There's a reasonable condition you must meet to unlock this dark command.

Ready or Not may boast some intense realism underneath the silly aimbot AI shenanigans, but it also has surprising secrets. While on a mission, you may encounter it by accident, but there are built-in deterrents to aggressive play. Here’s how to use the Secret Command in Ready or Not!

Command your team to ‘Hold’ their position and find a civilian; cuff them and then shoot them to unlock the Secret Command in Ready or Not. You must do this out of view of your team, and on the bottom-right, you’ll see the Secret Command appear, saying ‘Kill Me.’ You also won’t be able to use any other commands from here on except this one.

This sends your team on a one-way mission to find and shoot you. I can confirm, that if they have you in their sights, no matter your armor plating, you will likely die instantly. You’ll also notice that if you hit the Commands menu, it’ll only show the ‘Kill Me’ option, meaning you’re locked in to fail this mission. It’d be a swift end to your Ironman run, too, so play carefully.

Why is there a Secret Command in Ready or Not?

I would wager it’s to prevent players from being too trigger-happy and trying to prevent witnesses when they gun down innocents. If so, that’s an understandable motive to code this in. I can claim the dubious honor of also having done this by accident when I discovered it, being one of the 0.1% of Steam players to have unlocked its corresponding achievement, The Devil.

This teaches you two valuable lessons: you’re not on these missions to make widows or orphans, and you need your team with you as much as possible. While testing this to see if I could get it in other missions, I didn’t cuff the civilian and the command never showed. I got a penalty for excessive use of force, I got gunned down by other hostiles, and every officer not in therapy resigned after the mission. So… don’t mess around too much with this one once you’ve got the achievement.
