How to use Brightbloom Seeds in Tears of the Kingdom

Things are looking bright.

One of the best things about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the amount of options you have for any given situation. You want to experiment in combat? Sure, let’s just fuse an arrow with a Bomb Flower and show them who’s boss. You want a new way to get around Hyrule? Make yourself a car, or a flying vehicle, and set yourself free on the vast open world. One of the items you can use for certain situations are the Brightbloom Seeds you can find around the map. These can be used to illuminate dark spaces, but how do you even use them? Here’s our guide on how to use Brightbloom Seeds in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to use Brightbloom Seeds in Tears of the Kingdom

Using your Brightbloom Seeds is something you can do in a couple of ways in Tears of the Kingdom. The first method you can use is to simply throw them on the ground, via the material throwing mechanic. This might be new to you, as it was to me a few hours in, that if you hold the weapon throwing button and press up on the D-Pad, you can actually throw materials. This means you don’t need to use other items to get them around the place and just throw what you need, in our case Brightbloom Seeds, and they still have their fused effect.

The other way you can use your Brightbloom Seeds in Tears of the Kingdom is to fuse them with your arrows. You can do this by aiming your bow and arrow, and pressing up on the D-Pad. This can make them travel further than if you were to just throw them, but also uses arrows in the process. It’s a trade-off that you might have to consider if you’re running low on arrows. This method is a great way to scout out what’s in a big dark room before you enter it though, by just firing one Brightbloom infused arrow into the room, you should be able to get a better grip on what’s in there.
