Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania feels like a celebration of the Konami series’ storied past, featuring many fan-favorite enemies, weapons, and characters. While some, like Alucard and Richter, make full appearances, others appear in smaller roles, as unlockable outfits for you to use in your runs. Trevor and Sypha fall into this category, as you can unlock both of their Outfits in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC if you have a keen eye, and good knowledge of the series. Or if you have this handy guide, one of the two.
The secret to unlocking the Trevor and Sypha Outfits in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania
You’ll probably recognize this daring duo from the recent Castlevania animated series on Netflix, or from Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, if you’re a long-time fan. Their Outfits appear in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania, and both can be found in the Master’s Keep biome. If you haven’t reached this biome yet, check out our guide for details on how to do so.
Once you reach the Keep, proceed up the stairs until you reach the area where Alucard and Richter are waiting. If you look closely at the wall between the first two blue candles hanging there, right at the top of the stairs, you’ll notice some black diagonal marks leading upwards. This is the only clue you’ll get that there’s something going on here. Perform a double jump into the marks and you’ll land an invisible staircase, which you can then climb up through the ceiling into a secret attic room.
This secret should be no surprise to avid Castlevania fans, since a similar room appeared in Symphony of the Night and in several other entries in the series. In the attic room, you’ll find a cupboard full of vampire-hunting gear right next to the entrance. Interact with this, and the Blueprint for the Trevor Outfit will drop.
Once you’ve grabbed the duds, move over to the statues on the right. The one in the center can be interacted with, just like the cupboard. Do so, and the Blueprint for the Sypha Outfit will drop. With both Blueprints claimed, you can finish your run as normal, and both Outfits will be available to purchase from the Collector for 100 Cells each.
So there you have it. Now that you know how to unlock the Trevor and Sypha Outfits in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC, you’ll have your pick of plucky protagonists to impersonate during your next vampire-slaying adventure.
