Remnant 2 gives you a lot of Archetypes to choose from when you start the game. With each Archetype having its own pros and cons, it can be hard to choose which one you want to go with. Making matters more complicated is the secret Archetypes hidden throughout the game. The Engineer is one such Archetype, and here’s how you get it in Remnant 2.
Remnant 2: How to get the Engineer Archetype
In order to find the Engineer Archetype in Remnant 2, you first need to get to the second overworld area of N’Erud. If N’Erud was the first world you went to, this should be easy to reach. However, if you’ve yet to enter N’Erud, just keep playing the game until you finally reach this point.
Once you’re in N’Erud’s second overworld area there’s a tedious job we have to do. We’re looking for a small area hidden behind the fog. You know the fog that starts to kill the player as soon as you step into it. Thankfully, this is one thing that Remnant 2‘s procedural generation has no impact on. The area we’re looking for is always going to look the same, even if its location differs on the map. That may sound confusing, but just look out for the exact sort of rock formation as in the picture above. Walk along the edge of the fog all over the map until you find it. You’re looking for tall spiky rocks on the right, a flat cliffside on the left, and a clear pathway in between.
After you’ve found the formation, head straight forward until you drop down into a ditch. Then look left and you’ll see an object you can pick up. This is the Alien Device and it’s what we need to unlock the Engineer Archetype in Remnant 2. For an extra bonus, come back to the formation after respawning and jump across the gap to the little platform on the right. Here is where you can find the Technician armor set.
Finally, head over to Wallace at Ward 13 and give him the Alien Device. In return, you’ll get to equip the Engineer in your secondary Archetype slot. With the Engineer, you can conjure up a turret that can either act as back up or as a deadly weapon if you want to pick it up. It’s a pretty cool class, and since it’s so easy to get, it’s worth taking some time to do just that.
