Here comes the Anguish.

Remnant 2’s first DLC, The Awakened King, has been a huge hit. It’s easy to see why, what with a slew of brand-new weapons for players to sink their teeth into. One of these is the Anguish Handgun. Read on to find out where to find it.

Remnant 2: How to unlock the Anguish Handgun

The Anguish Handgun is a mighty weapon, so players will want to seek it out within The Awakened King DLC. Sadly, the Anguish Handgun is perhaps one of the more annoying unlocks the game, as it requires players to create a fresh character. On top of that, if you die along the way to it, you have to start all the way from the beginning.

So, rule out all your pre-existing characters for this weapon unlock, as with a fresh one, you’ll have to reach the final area of the game’s campaign. So yes, you have to replay the entire game, all for a handgun.

You’ll reach the first checkpoint in the final section of Remnant 2, where the madness begins. Once you’re in Root Earth, you will need to use the in-game Adventure Mode once inside Ward 13, which will be indicated on your map.

Ethereal Manor and Ward 13

You’re going to roll Adventure Mode until you can get the Ethereal Manor to spawn inside a location with fire, and this will complete the first step of this tricky puzzle.

Next, head over to Dran in Ward 13, which is around the north of Brabus. He’ll be easy to find, and he will undoubtedly annoy you as he’ll instruct you to re-roll Adventure Mode once again.

This time around, head over to Yaesha and roll it until you can get the Red Throne at the onset. Once again, you’ll need to head toward the back of the throne and speak to Dran.

Next, go to the Labyrinth, find the Dran near the Fractured Ingress segment of the location, and speak to him. Once again, we’re using Adventure Mode, and this time, it’ll be in N’Erud Tal Ratha. We’re aiming to get the Forgotten Prison to roll.

Tormented Asylum and Nightweaver

Dran will be within a pod near the checkpoint located by Tal’Ratha’s Refuge this time around, and now we can finally return to Root Earth. Once you have spoken to Dran back at this location, we’re heading to Losomn, and we will want to roll Adventure Mode until we can get the Tormented Asylum to appear.

This will trigger the Nightweaver to spawn, and Dran will be near the entrance and present you with an item called Dran’s Dream.

Use this item to teleport you to a brand new location, and you’ll see a material called Occult Vessel on the ground in front of you. You’re going to want to bring this material back to McCabe, one of the merchants you meet in the game.

Finally, you will be granted the Anguish Handgun, as he’ll craft it for you after completing this mountain of steps.
