How to unlock other weapons in Helldivers 2

You're gonna need a bigger gun.

What would a game about blasting aliens be without a ton of guns to choose from? Fortunately, you’re spoiled for choice in Helldivers, with a massive selection. If you’re still rocking basic gear, let me show you how to unlock other weapons in Helldivers 2.

You can buy new weapons from the Acquisitions Center with Warbonds. You’ll need to complete at least one mission before you can view the selection. Once you’ve done that, you can check out everything available in the Helldivers Mobilise! Catalog.

The Acquisitions store is split into pages, and you must spend a designated amount of Warbonds on each before advancing. As you may expect, weapons quickly become expensive, but you can buy everything from SMGs to Shotguns.

Weapons are usually the most expensive item on each page, so I recommend looking through the choices beforehand in case you want to save up for something. If you’re unsure how to get Warbonds, check out our guide, which explains everything.

What weapons should I buy first in Helldivers 2?

I daresay it’s worth trying every weapon out, but I’ve been loving the R-63 Diligence Marksman Rifle on page 2. This rifle packs a punch and is excellent for ammo economy as it’s a precision weapon. The P-19 Redeemer is a spicy upgrade to the regular pistol, although it burns through ammo with its rapid-fire rate.

If you don’t mind a range decrease, the SG-8 Punisher feels incredible compared to the regular Assault Rifle. This Shotgun deals obscene damage and even penetrates lightly armored foes. Most enemies you’ll encounter on Trivial and Easy difficulties will fall in a couple of shots, although you do have to be close to your foes.

New weapons will help you survive against more dangerous creatures but don’t sleep on Ship Module upgrades. You’ll need Samples for these, so check out our guide if you need to stock up.
