Call of Duty has been dominating the first-person shooter space for years. One of its most recent success stories was its first foray into the battle royale genre with Call of Duty: Warzone. Now, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision-Blizzard have released the free-to-play sequel, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, and it comes with plenty of new content. Some of that Warzone 2 content includes weapons like the M13B assault rifle, which can only be unlocked by accomplishing a specific challenge.
Call of Duty players will want to get their hands on the shiny new assault rifle, and it can only be unlocked by playing the brand new DMZ mode within Warzone 2. The in-game challenge tells players that they can obtain the gun “by defeating the Chemist in the radiation zone of DMZ and extracting his dropped weapon.” Let’s run you through how to do just that.
How to unlock the M13B in Warzone 2
It’s going to be a harder challenge to unlock the new gun by going solo, so we recommend squadding up as a team of three to tackle this challenge. However, it’s important to note that only the player holding the gun will unlock it when the match is over, so it is recommended that you find a team that will be willing to let you do this.
Load into a fresh match of DMZ in Warzone 2, ensuring that you and your party members are well equipped for a fight. On the map, you will see a yellow circle, and your goal will be to head directly toward it as soon as possible. Unlike typical battle royale fashion where a deadly circle is closing in on players, this yellow gas circle is expanding. Going inside it will slowly damage you, so we advise killing some enemy NPCs and stealing their gas masks to significantly reduce the damage you and your team are taking.
In the center of the zone, you should find the Chemist NPC. It will be easy enough to recognize him as he is wearing a yellow hazmat suit and will have bodyguard NPCs protecting him. Take the group of enemies down while taking into account that they are armored up.
Once the Chemist has been eliminated, you are free to pick up the M13B from his body and escape before more NPCs and real players begin to close in. After this, it’s simply a matter of traveling to the nearest Exfil site and escaping the match via the incoming helicopter. As long as you escape on the helicopter alive and with the M13B equipped, it will be all yours.
