Step 1: Start a new run with Genevieve

Before you can unleash Je-Ne-Viv upon your foes, you’ll first need to unlock her mortal counterpart, the similarly-named Genevieve. You can do this by breaking the Seal of the Banished, the last of the three Seals you’ll encounter in the DLC. You’ll need to break the Seal of the Lake and the Seal of the Abyss before you can do so. Once this task is complete, Genevieve will be available for purchase. Grab her on the character select screen and jump into a run.

Step 2: Defeat 100,000 enemies in a single run

In order to unlock Je-Ne-Viv, you’ll need to defeat 100,000 enemies in a single run as Genevieve. Depending on the Stages and power ups you have unlocked, this could be difficult or even impossible, but we’ll give you the tips you need to maximize your chances. Firstly, the Abyss Foscari Stage is particularly rich in enemies, making it a safe pick here. Secondly, you’ll want to have all the Curse power ups purchased, as well as all the Charm power ups, which can be unlocked by collecting the Apoplexy Relic in Bat Country.

With these power ups enabled, the spawn rate for enemies will be much higher in every Stage you play, and particularly so in the already-dense Abyss Foscari. Just playing out the run normally should get you the 100,000 kills you need to unlock Je-Ne-Viv, so just focus on surviving and developing a strong build and you’ll be fine. You can also head over to the left of the Stage and take on the Je-Ne-Viv boss fight for an extra thematic touch, though this is not necessary to unlock the character.

Step 3: Purchase Je-Ne-Viv and enjoy!

After defeating 100,000 enemies, simply play out the rest of your run and you’ll unlock Je-Ne-Viv when it ends. She’ll then be available for purchase on the character select screen. Be warned that she’s one of the most expensive characters in the game, setting us back a whopping 325,000 Gold, but she more than makes up for it with her absurd power level. She packs a laundry list of abilities, inheriting everything from both Eleanor and Genevieve, as well as a few tricks of her own, like a World Eater effect that triggers every six levels, which can destroy the boundaries of the Stage and let you roam free. Now that you know how to unlock Je-Ne-Viv in Vampire Survivors: Tides of the Foscari DLC, the greatest evil in the game (so far) is yours to command.
