How to unlock HRM-9 and TAQ Evolvere in Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) and Warzone

Two new guns alert!

Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded is giving us HRM-9 and TAQ Evolvere, two powerful new weapons to experiment with. First things first, you need to unlock HRM-9 and TAQ Evolvere in MW3 or Warzone — here’s how.

You only need to unlock HRM-9 and TAQ Evolvere through one Call of Duty game mode to unlock it universally. That means you can play MW3 or Warzone to unlock HRM-9. So far, the only way to unlock HRM-9 is via the Battle Pass.

You have to earn XP by doing anything in Warzone, MW3, and/or MWZ to earn Battle Pass Tokens. Then, spend those Tokens to get to the A21 tile on the Battle Pass which is right next to the starting A1 tile. In total, you need to spend 10 Battle Pass Tokens to unlock the HMR-9.

There is another layer to it, though. Each item in this sector requires you to spend a Token, but first, you need to complete its special requirement. Once all items have been unlocked, only then can you complete the requirement for the HRM-9 and unlock the weapon. Here are the requirements for each item in A21:

  • Jak Thunder LMG Kit – Get 10 Operator or Special Zombie kills while aiming down sights with SMGs.
  • Jak BFB – Get 10 Operator or Special Zombie hipfire kills with SMGs.
  • Cranium Cracked Emblem – Get 10 Operator headshots or Special Zombie critical kills with SMGs.
  • Double XP Token 30 Minutes – Get 10 Operator or Special Zombie tac stance kills with SMGs.
  • HRM-9 – Get 20 Operator or Special Zombie kills while moving with SMGs.

HRM-9 is an SMG that has a high fire rate and great mobility and handling. The base model is very good in close-quarter combat which means it’ll be most useful in Modern Warfare 3 matches. As always, you can use the Gunsmith to make HRM-9 better at midrange, but I think your best bet with HRM-9 is to lean into the speed at which you can shred enemies while running and gunning.

How to unlock TAQ Evolvere in MW3, Warzone, or MWZ

The only way to unlock TAQ Evolvere is to complete the Weekly Challenge Week 7. To do this, you need to complete any five Challenges from Week 7 on Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, or Modern Warfare Zombies.

The easiest ones I recommend completing are getting three Operator Fury kills with a Recommended Weapon, get First Blood three times with a Recommended Weapon, clear five Infested Strongholds, get 75 Mercenary kills with a Recommended Weapon, and place in the top 10 five times in Battle Royale.

TAQ Evolvere is an LMG that features many attachments which makes it a versatile weapon for any playstyle. Notably, the base model has a high fire rate and decent handling and accuracy.

To reiterate, the TAQ Evolvere is unlocked by completing the Week 7 Weekly Challenge, and the HRM-9 is unlocked via the Season 1 Reloaded Battle Pass. Another mystery you may want to learn about is when Rebirth Island is coming to Modern Warfare 3.
