How to unlock Great Fairy Tera in Tears of the Kingdom

The first step to unlocking this Great Fairy isn’t anything to do with her at all. You’re going to want to make sure you’ve spoken to Penn at Lookout Landing. He will then fly off to just outside Rito Village, where you’ll need to make your way over and speak to him and his colleague at the Lucky Clover Gazette. Here you will start a side quest that revolves around Princess Zelda and rumors about different horse stables.

After completing this, head to the Woodland Stable, which is to the direct east of Hyrule Castle. You can also see its location on the map below. Here you should see Penn talking to two musicians; if you speak to them, this will start a Side Adventure called Serenade to a Great Fairy. This is how you unlock Great Fairy Tera in Tears of the Kingdom.

Fixing the cart

This Side Adventure is all about fixing a cart that the musicians use to travel around. First things first about this Side Adventure that unlocks Great Fairy Tera: you need to accrue enough Pony Points to get a towing harness. For me, all I had to do was store one horse, and then later talk to the man behind the counter and it gave me the required Pony Points. You gain Pony Points by storing horses, and using the facilities at a stable. So if my method was a fluke, you can get them pretty easily by just sleeping at the stable.

Once you have that item for your horse, you need to repair the Breezer. You can do this by using Ultrahand and attaching the wheels you can find nearby to the cart. After you do this, you need to take them up the mountain to the Great Fairy Fountain, where you’ll eventually unlock Tera. The musicians can get off if you’re too reckless doing this, so take your time.

Once you get there, you’ll have a cutscene with the Great Fairy, and after that, you can then use Great Fairy Tera to upgrade your armor, and she’ll tell you the locations of other Great Fairy Fountains for you to go and unlock.
