While you may be planning to play Avatar Frontiers of Pandora with a friend, how do you unlock co-op? Just like Far Cry 6, this Ubisoft game is available to play with one other player.
It’s not available from the start, but there’s a way to access it later in the game. Here’s how to gain access to co-op multiplayer mode.
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: How to unlock co-op multiplayer mode
While you cannot play this open-world RPG in split-screen co-op, if a friend of yours bought this game, you can play it together. Not right from the start, though, you have to wait a bit to gain access to this feature. You can unlock co-op in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora by completing the main story quest “The Aranahe Clan.”
I got to this quest after around two to four hours of gameplay. This included focusing on the main quest and exploring other nearby landmarks and locations as well. As soon as you make it to the Aranahe Hometree and finish the quest, you’ll gain access to multiplayer co-op.

To enable this mode, press the “Esc” key and select the co-op option. One player is the host, while the other is the guest in the host’s world.
If you’re sure that you want to play with a friend, make sure you’re both on the same main quest. You can only join each other’s worlds if you’re at the same point in time in the main campaign. So, I’d get to the point where you unlock co-op and wait for your friend to reach the same point.
You should also know that Avatar Frontiers of Pandora supports cross-platform co-op! This means that if your friend is on PlayStation or Xbox, and you’re on PC, you can team up and play together. Also, all the progress you make while in co-op mode will stay once you leave it. You can trade items with your friend and still keep them when they’re gone.
