Ripout is a creepy sci-fi shooter, but if you ask me, the scariest part is how gross your starting armor looks. If you’re tired of looking like a knockoff Mag from Warframe, let me show you how to unlock and change armor in Ripout.

How to get new armor in Ripout
There are a couple of methods to earn gear and armor in Ripout. The best way is through Mission Rewards. You’ll see several floating vessel holograms at your ship’s quest table. These are mission destinations, and the rewards for completing them will sometimes include Armor like the Wasp Boots, for example. It’s important to remember that these armor rewards are Schematics, and you’ll still need to build the items before you can wear them.
Try your luck at the One Armed Bandit
If you’re more of the gambling sort, you can try the One Armed Bandit. This machine is upstairs aboard your ship, and you can pay with Goranium Components for the chance at awesome rewards. You’re not guaranteed to get armor, but there are plenty of decent prizes, including weapons.
Beware, the price goes up the more you play. If you’re a connoisseur of space gambling, this will be a non-issue, but don’t come crying to me if you go broke!
How to craft armor in Ripout
Getting Armor Schematics is only half the battle, as you need to craft it before you can wear it. You can do this at the Crafting Station on the wall near the Mission Table. Use the ‘Garment’ Tab, and you’ll see a list of every armor piece you can make and how much they cost.
All of the Components required for armor crafting can be found during missions. Unless you have a time limit, I recommend thoroughly searching every room when you’re on a mission, as crafting can quickly become expensive. Most crafts also cost Goranium Components, which can be used for gambling, so keep an eye on your resources.
How to change armor in Ripout
There’s a Wardrobe opposite the stairs to the One Armed Bandit where you can equip armor. If you want to do the same for Weapons, you can do so at the Weapon Station on the other side of the room.
Armor gives all kinds of bonuses, from Damage Reduction. to increased Reload Speed. I recommend experimenting and finding a combination that works best with your playstyle.
