Talismans and guards in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess are a quick and easy way to change up your gameplay completely. Without them, you’re going to struggle against many bosses, so finding and unlocking them around the maps is essential.
How to unlock all talismans and guards in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess
If you want to unlock the guards and talismans, you must pay attention to all the extra parts of the maps and bases. As you play through the game, you will find a few ways to unlock both.
Base repair
Initially, base repair in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess will only unlock recipes and extra upgrade points. However, when you manage to complete a base, you will be rewarded with either a Talisman or a new Guard. Therefore, it is key that you start upgrading your base as soon as you can. The faster they get upgraded, the better your playstyle will be.
Once you have completed all the repairs for each base, visit Yoshiro in her tent. This will reward you with either one of the guards or talismans in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess.
Shrine unlocks
Another way to get both talismans and guards in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess is by unlocking the shrines in corrupted bases. Before night falls, it is essential that you find and cleanse all the areas of corruption. If you manage to find them all, the shrine will unlock, and you will receive either a talisman or a guard. If you are struggling to find them all, equip yourself with the Demon Chime talisman that signals when you are close to a place of corruption.
Hidden chests
Around each level, chests are hidden while they are still corrupted and before nightfall. Only a Thief class villager can uncover or unlock these chests. The best thing to do is create a thief during the clearing stage and set them to unlock the various chests. Black chests contain talismans and guards in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess, so seek those out first.
However, you must upgrade your thief to stage 3 to open most of the better chests. At this point, they can pick locks, giving you access to better gear. Once the battle stage begins, I suggest getting rid of your thief and repurposing them into something that doesn’t run away from a fight.

All guards in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess
Guards can seriously up your sword game if equipped with the right ones. When activated, they deliver devastating attacks, raising enemies’ stagger bars and quickly dissipating hordes of Seethes. Really, what it comes down to is your own playstyle.
If you like to keep everything spread thinly, dancing between locations, find a guard to work with that. However, I keep things grouped and often shift my villagers around.
Guard | Effect |
---|---|
Suzaka’s Flame | Quick charge, but low damage attack consisting of two sweeping sword attacks. |
Rikugos Vigour | All villagers in range gain increased attack and movement speed for a time. |
Tenku’s Wings | Teleport to Yoshiro. Take off and landing creates a damaging shockwave. |
Genbu’s Might | AoE damage by slamming Soh’s sword into the ground. Doesn’t affect flying enemies. |
Kochins Ward | A damaging shield that deflects attacks for a time. |
Toda’s Snare | Up to three traps can be places that explode on contact. |
Byakko’s Claws | Slow but powerful. A forward dash with a slash, with a follow up slash. |
Seiryu’s Gale | Create a large whirlwind above Soh. Depletes the resist gauge. |
Tiajo’s Favor | All villagers are surrounded by an aura that reduces damage and knockback for a time. |
Kijin’s Specter | Create a mimic of Soh for a time that cannot be damaged or knocked back. |
Tenko’s Sacrifice | Use Soh’s life to heal villagers in range and purify cocooned villagers. |
Taion’s Lightning | Charge Soh’s blade and release it for a huge forward-moving shockwave. Depletes resist gauge. |
