How to unlock all Classes in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Four different dwarves.

At the beginning of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, you start with the Scout Class, but how do you unlock all the other Classes?

Players who love the original Deep Rock Galactic will know about the three other classes you can unlock, but getting those characters can be a mystery.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor: How to unlock all Classes

This action roguelike shooter spin-off set in the DRG universe doesn’t give you all four characters from the get-go. You have to earn your permanent unlocks, not just with the Classes. You can unlock other Classes in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor by increasing your Player Rank. This is done by simply playing the game, despite you either succeeding or dying trying.

As you continuously do runs in DRG:S, you can earn some permanent upgrades, weapons, Class Mods, and Classes. While you start with only being able to play the Scout Class, making it to other Player Rank milestones will give you access to the rest of the Classes:

  • Gunner: Rank 3
  • Engineer: Rank 5
  • Driller: Rank 7

It may not sound like you’ll need to jump up too many levels to unlock new Classes, but you’ll certainly have to work for it by defeating hordes of bugs and beating levels. With nearly two hours of gameplay you should be able to reach Player Rank 3, but getting Rank 5 and 7 may take a bit longer.

With each new Class comes unique weapons and stats. The original DRG plays differently depending on which Class you are in, so you can expect the same difference when choosing Classes in this spin-off. For example, the Scout excels at mobility and long-range gunplay.

With the game currently being available in Early Access, some of this information could change. I don’t believe we’ll get any new Classes, seeing as these are the iconic Classes from DRG, but we could get updates on the current ones.

If you’re still using the Scout, you’ll want to know about the best Scout weapons in DRG:S.
