Preparation is everything. Capturing and taming a wolf can go wrong very quickly, so make sure you have some pretty solid armor on and an inventory full of stamina-rich recipes. You’re going to be running for quite some time, and there is almost no chance you won’t get bitten at least once.

Once you have yourself equipped with gear, go ahead and build yourself a pen for the wolf. You’ll want to make it from stakepole as the wolf isn’t going to be very happy about being locked inside. Make an easy entrance and exit for yourself so that once the wolf chases you inside, you can quickly shut it in.

Load up your pockets with deer or boar meat, which you can harvest from your other animal farm, and set off into the mountain biome. You should have either the forest resistance mead, Wolf, or Lox armor, as this biome is cold. Once in the biome, it won’t be long until you come across wolves, and they will almost certainly attack.

Lead the wolves back to your prepared pen and quickly shut them in. Now is when you can pull the meat from your pockets and throw it in there with the enraged beast. Five or six pieces should do the trick. Once you step away from the pen, the wolf will calm down. Make sure you have built it far enough away from your homestead to not trigger it.
