Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally here and you can now jump into all the maps and modes the game has to offer. Fans have been introduced to an array of new content such as a more detailed gunsmith with weapon tuning, a new movement mechanic in the form of ledge hanging, and more. However, some features have stayed the same, and this includes the presence of streaks. This year, you’re able to decide if you want to switch between killstreaks or scorestreaks on your Modern Warfare 2 loadout. This guide will show you how to pick your preferred option before heading into your next match.
Whether you decide to use killstreaks or scorestreaks, it all depends on your play style. Killstreaks require you to string together kills and may prove to be more beneficial in game modes where kills are important such as Team Deathmatch. On the other hand, objective modes such as Hardpoint can be useful when working towards scorestreaks.
How to toggle between killstreaks and scorestreaks in Modern Warfare 2
Switching between the killstreaks or scorestreaks options is a simple process in Modern Warfare 2. Firstly, you need to navigate to the weapons tab on the main menu. Then, choose the killstreak section. This will show you every streak in the game, and you can equip three from the selection. At the bottom left of your screen, you’ll see an option to toggle between killstreaks or scorestreaks. If you have killstreaks selected, you’ll be able to see how many kills you need to earn in a row to obtain each streak. Similarly, using scorestreaks will show you how many points you need to rack up per life to earn the streak.
Notably, you’re unable to change between killstreaks and scorestreaks during a match, so you’ll have to make your selection before you load in.
