With both DLC out, PokémonScarlet and Violet players can now enjoy the Epilogue that wraps the game up once and for all. There is quite a checklist to finish before you can play it, however.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet epilogue requirements
As this is the epilogue we’re talking about, to play it, you’ll need to be at the end of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil any details of the epilogue itself. Heed the checklist to make sure that you’ve done absolutely everything before even trying to start it.
To begin the epilogue, you need to have the following things completed:
- The main story
- The Teal Mask’s story
- The Indigo Disk’s story
- Beat the Academy Ace Tournament at least once
With all of those finished, you can happily proceed. For those without the the Teal Mask or the Indigo Disk, then tough luck, you’ll need to buy them. They both come included in “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” DLC, and you can buy them from the Nintendo Store. Make sure to get it for your version of Violet and Scarlet.
Note that the Academy Ace Tournament is itself a post-game event. Once the credits have rolled, you’ll be told of the tournament. Before you can challenge it, however, you’ll be required to beat all of the Gym Leaders again in a rematch. This is quite a demanding feat, but I’m sure you’ve got what it takes.

How to start the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet epilogue
Once you’ve beat the Academy Ace Tournament (well done, by the way!), go into the Poké Portal, then into Mystery Gifts, then into Receive via Internet. Select the Mythical Pecha Berry. With that claimed, head over to Kitakami and interact with the pink object in the old lady’s shop in the main town.
I won’t tell more, as then I’ll be spoiling the epilogue. Follow through with what happens next. It’s short, but it finishes this fantastic game off nicely. I hope you enjoy it, and revel in the glory of having properly beaten Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Did you catch them all?
Now that you know how to properly finish the game, why don’t you find out how to start the Teal Mask DLC if you haven’t done so already?
