How to make a Seasonal character for Diablo 4 Season 1

This feature isn’t new to the world of Diablo, but if you’re new to the series like me, you may be wondering why this is even a feature. Blizzard is essentially encouraging you to start fresh with a new build, which is good for if you’re bored with your current character. How you can start a Season 1 character in Diablo 4 is by selecting ‘Create a New Character’ from the main menu.

From there, you have the option to either choose a Seasonal Realm or an Eternal Realm for your character. The Eternal Realm is a game without any Seasonal content, and is the default experience. The Seasonal Realm, on the other hand, will allow you to start Season quests and complete the Battle Pass.

No matter if you’ve played Diablo 4 before or not, you can choose to create a new Seasonal character. But if you want to skip the main story campaign, you’ll have to complete the main story through another character first. Most players have already done this, and are ready to skip the campaign with a new character. Luckily, many features carry over between characters, so you’re not starting over completely.

Nevertheless, once you choose the Seasonal Realm option, and decide whether or not to skip the campaign, you’re brought into character creation. I recommend choosing an entirely new class, since there are five unique classes to play around with.

How to start Season 1 quests in Diablo 4

After creating your character and getting into the game, you’ll want to head to the green marker on your map in Kyovashad. The first quest is called ‘Burning From Within’, which will have you speaking with Vytran to start the questline. During these quests, a man named Cormond will introduce you to the new features for Season of the Malignant.

You’ll learn how to use your Cage of Binding to turn Malignant Hearts into Caged Hearts. Also, Cormond will teach you how to craft and use Malignant Invokers for farming Caged Hearts. These Hearts can attach to jewelry Sockets, giving you Armor and unique buffs.
