How to sign up for the Skull and Bones Beta

Ready to set sail?

Skull and Bones has had a rocky start, but I for one am very curious (and dare I say optimistic) about the game. If you share my intrigue, you need to learn how to play the game for free during the Skull and Bones Beta happening in December 2023.

Skull and Bones December 2023 Beta: How to join

Betas are the perfect time to try a game out early and for free. If, after getting into the Skull and Bones Beta, you realize that it isn’t for you, then you saved your money and time. However, if Skull and Bones is good, then you’ll be even more hyped for the release date.

To join the Skull and Bones December 2023 Beta, which is live from December 15 to December 18, all you need to do is go to the Skull and Bones website, scroll to the bottom, and select your preferred platform. First, you need to sign in to Ubisoft or create an account, but once that is squared away, select your platform.

If you do it right, you’ll see a “thank you for registering” message telling you that you’ll receive an email with detailed instructions on how to access the Beta if you are selected. Betas always come down to luck of the draw, so hopefully you are selected to play. I recommend scrolling down to see the FAQs because there is a lot of useful info there, but here are a few highlights. Also, watch the trailer in the meantime.

How to invite friends to join the Skull and Bones Beta

What I find cool about this Skull and Bones Beta is you can invite up to two friends to play with you. So, if you have three friends and only one of you gets it, you can all get in via one friend inviting the other two.

To do this, you of course need to be selected to join the Skull and Bones Beta. Then, you need to follow these steps:

  • Select Invite My Friends through the confirmation email.
  • Select Invite in the Ubisoft Connect friends list.
  • Your friend will receive a Skull and Bones Beta invitation.

Will my Skull and Bones save progress carry over to the full release?

Sadly, the progress you make in the Skull and Bones Beta won’t carry over to the full game. I think it’s still really valuable to play a Beta whenever you can to get a taste of whether you’ll like a game you’re looking forward to or not.
