Manor Lords is all about resource management and settlement sustainability. You really can’t survive without having the necessary materials to support your growing families. Circumstances can be hard at times, and there may be moments when you struggle to stay afloat. So let’s build on and figure out how to restore resources and preserve supplies in Manor Lords.
Manor Lords — How to restore resources
When you’re just starting out in Manor Lords, your first task will most likely be to increase your population. This is just as important as anything else and is an essential building block to creating a thriving settlement. However, for every new family that joins your town, the more food and resources you’ll have to produce.
Supplies in Manor Lords consist of Food and Fuel, both of which are consumed by one every month, and double in the winter. So the more your population increases, you’ll need to up your production. You’ll need to make sure your settlement is near abundant resources that can be seen on the map.
There are even seasonal deposits around the map depending on the time of the year, such as Berry deposits. Conversely, watch out for certain deposits that disappear depending on the month as this can slow down your production rate of Food and other supplies.
If you find yourself short on either Food or Fuel, you may need to change the work area for certain gathering buildings. If you’ve gotten rid of all the animals in an area, it might be time to send your people further out to search. To do so, select the building, choose the “Advanced” tab, and change the work area to a set location.
How to preserve supplies
Remember that if at any point you run out of necessary resources, families might decide to leave your settlement. Keep this in mind when you’re deciding what to focus on in-game next. But once you have enough Food, you have to make sure you preserve your Fuel. Fuel is a bit more selective, with there being only two sources of Fuel: Firewood and Charcoal. Firewood is the easiest to get, so you’ll want to focus on it before unlocking more skill developments.
Having a logging camp isn’t the only thing you’ll need to do to produce Firewood, because you’ll need a separate building to convert the wood. Head over to “Construction” and in the “Gathering” tab, go ahead and create a Woodcutter’s Lodge.
Assign a family or two to the lodge, and you’ll start producing Firewood like hotcakes. You won’t even have to consider upgrading these buildings until you level up your settlement.
