How to respec in Persona 5 Tactica

Time for a reset!

Persona 5 Tactica is the latest Persona 5 spin-off, and it’s in a brand new genre for the sub-series, this time being an SRPG. This might mean you’ll need to reevaluate your playstyle a few hours in, so here’s our guide on how to respec in Persona 5 Tactica.

How to reset your skills in Persona 5 Tactica

When you’re playing Persona 5 Tactica, you might find that as you develop a deeper understanding of the game’s mechanics, and what works and what doesn’t, you might find out that you want to have another go at building a character’s skill set. Luckily, you can do that at any time in the game with a press of a single button. To be able to respec in Persona 5 Tactica, all you have to do is head to the character’s skill screen, and press the button corresponding to “Reset” at the bottom of the screen. This will then prompt you to make sure you want to do this, then you’ll be able to respec in Persona 5 Tactica.

When you decide to respec in Persona 5 Tactica, you’ll thankfully be given your GP back so you can apply them in any shape that you want to. From my knowledge, there isn’t a limit to the number of times you can respec, meaning you can really experiment with the game’s mechanics and different builds to see which suits that character the best.

My experience with respeccing in P5T

For me, I ended up respeccing Makoto twice. I originally wanted to make her build similar to how she was in Persona 5 Royal for me, which was an offensive healer, which was really fun. But that didn’t work out so well, and because her bonus for selection was an increase to melee damage, I decided to really lean into that. I gave her mostly passive buffs, with a few strength buffs to her Persona skills in case I needed them, and gave her a sub-persona that leveraged this. This made her one of my favorite units in the game!
