How to quick-start Genshin Impact 5.0 and unlock Natlan

Are we there yet?

MiHoYo did something brilliant in Genshin Impact 5.0: They made it so that even if you aren’t caught up with the story, you can skip to the new content. Here is your guide to quick-start to Natlan and how to unlock the new region.

Since I’m behind in the story, I’m so excited that we can finally skip ahead in Genshin Impact. There are a few conditions you need to meet to qualify for the quick start.

  • Access Natlan
    • Complete all the Mondstadt Chapter 1 main story quests
    • Be at least Adventure Rank 19
  • Access Natlan and the Chapter 5 main story quest
    • Complete all the Liyue Chapter 2 main story quests
    • Be at least Adventure Rank 28

If you qualify for Natlan and the story quests, you can quick-start Genshin Impact 5.0 by selecting “Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn” in the Events Overview page. After this is selected, you are taken to the Chapter 5: Act 1 quest called “Natlan! A New Adventure”. Follow that quest and then learn how to quickly and easily access Natlan (don’t make the same mistake I did).

Should you enable the Focused Experience mode in Genshin Impact?

When using quick-start, you get a prompting to enable Focused Experience mode. When enabled, you avoid conflicts with quests you haven’t done and characters you haven’t met.

If you don’t care about spoilers and want to experience everything Genshin Impact Chapter 5 has to offer, disable Focused Experience mode. Otherwise, enable it. Before enabling Focused Experience mode, you are given a list of quests that can’t be played. I recommend enabling Focused Experience mode because some quests aren’t accessible without it if you aren’t caught up.

Easiest way to unlock and get to Natlan in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Natlan Fast Travel

Don’t make the same mistake I did by walking all the way from your nearest Teleport Waypoint. After you quick-start and complete the first part of the Natlan quest, instead of walking, you can fast travel to the Tequemecan Valley Teleport Waypoint. You can do this either through the map or through the Land of Vibrant Stone and Flaming Springs Event Overview page.

The yellow quest marker was blocking my sight of the Teleport Waypoint — don’t make that mistake. Sure, you can walk all the way to Natlan if you want — it is a beautiful walk — but fast traveling is much easier and allows you to jump right into the fun. Just don’t forget about Clorinde or the other previous characters.
